When a commercial ice machine stops producing, makes too little ice or fails mid-cycle, the problem can affect beverage service, prep and guest operations immediately. MSA starts with the machine, water, controls and refrigeration symptoms—not a guess based on one symptom.
Different symptom. Different cause.
A commercial ice machine can lose production because of water delivery, drainage, sensors, controls, pumps, fans, harvest components, operating conditions or refrigeration performance. Similar complaints can point to very different repairs.
That is why a useful service call begins with the exact model, what changed in production and what the machine is doing during the cycle. We use those clues to narrow the problem before recommending parts or repair.
Before dispatch
Collecting this information before the appointment can reduce guesswork and help the technician arrive with a clearer starting point.
Send the brand, model number and a photo of the data plate. Note whether the unit is undercounter, modular, built-in or another commercial configuration.
Tell us whether the machine stopped making ice completely, slowed down, makes thin or misshapen ice, fails to harvest or cycles without producing normally.
Mention visible leaks, slow drainage, unusual water flow, recent plumbing work or whether the machine appears to fill differently than usual.
Photograph any displayed code, warning light or control message before resetting the machine.
If the machine was recently cleaned, moved, descaled, repaired or had filters changed, tell us when and what was done.
Let us know whether the machine supports a bar, restaurant line, hotel operation, event service or another high-demand use so scheduling can be planned appropriately.
Service scope
Coverage depends on the exact brand, model, installation and failure. Call with equipment details if you want scope confirmed before scheduling.
Fill behavior, water delivery, drainage, pumps and visible water-path problems.
Sensors, switches, error codes, controls and cycle logic when applicable.
Fans, pumps, harvest behavior and components related to normal machine cycling.
Temperature and refrigeration performance, compressor-related symptoms and qualifying refrigeration-system diagnosis.
While waiting for service
Commercial ice is part of a food-service environment. This page does not replace manufacturer cleaning instructions, your company’s sanitation procedures or local regulatory requirements.
Error codes and indicator states can disappear after a reset. Document them first so the technician knows what the machine reported.
Observe whether the machine fills, runs, forms ice, reaches harvest or stops at a repeatable point. A short timeline is more useful than repeated resets.
Note where water appears and whether drainage is normal, slow or backed up. Avoid disassembling the machine unless your staff is trained and authorized to do so.
Continue to follow your established cleaning and sanitation procedures. A mechanical repair does not replace required cleaning, filter maintenance or food-safety practices.

Miami ice-machine FAQ
We diagnose many qualifying machines with no ice, low production, poor cube formation, harvest problems, leaks, drainage issues, sensor faults, water-system problems and refrigeration-related failures.
We service many qualifying models from these brands. Call with the exact model number so service coverage can be confirmed before scheduling.
A photo of the data plate, the current symptom, error code if present, recent production changes, water or drainage observations and a short description of the business impact are especially useful.
